DataHeist is a countermeasure honeypot platform that
is intended to divert hackers to a potentially rewarding cache of information such as credit card
numbers, passwords, email addresses, shipment tracking
numbers, and social security numbers. All the
information looks real and even passes basic validation
tests, but it's all fabricated to not only delude
hackers but also pollute the underground network where real
data is sold on the black market.
